Melissa Hirschman, ERTY500 andYACEP with Yoga Alliance, has been practicing yoga since 2007 and began teaching in 2011 after falling in love with the practice’s almost immediate ability to quiet her mind and bring her into her back into her body. Drawing from a diverse background in academics, a successful career in corporate and experiential leadership, and the guidance of her many loving teachers, Melissa found her unique voice weaving eastern energetics with western psychology and positive messaging for a rich shared practice experience focused on breath, rhythm, and postural alignment. Melissa is grateful for the love, support, and influence of her teachers and for those who helped her find her voice and helped pave the way for Yoga as a path to peace both internally and globally; including Seane Corn, Matthew Sanford, Rolf Gates, and Hala Kouri.
Melissa teaches both traditional and adaptive Vinyasa (Yoga for individuals with physical, mobility, sensory, and cognitive challenges) with a consistent invitation for her students to slow down, grow into and explore edges, experience the sensation of their poses, and use the practice as a time to ‘check in’ rather than ‘check out’. A passionate and empowering teacher and practitioner, students of all levels enjoy Melissa’s dynamic, creative, and attentive teaching style as a means for wellcare of mind, body, and spirit in both her classes and workshops.
